My Rating System

⭐ This is when a book was bad. Really bad. Bad plot. Horribly developed characters I could not care less about. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone and I certainly would never consider looking at it again and probably one I didn’t finish. You know those books.

⭐ ⭐ This is when a book really wasn’t great. It may have had a decent sounding plot and I guess someone out there may want to read it, but I didn’t feel connected to it at all. I probably finished it, but it was painful and took too much brain power and energy.

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ This is when a book was good! Yay! Finally! Good plot and good character development. It may have had slow parts, but in the end I’m glad I read it and I would recommend. Most books, I feel, fall into this category.

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ Okay- now we’re talking! This is when a book is realllllly good. I was surprised by how it ended or by some random unexpected plot twist in the middle and I will remember what happened in this one for awhile. I will look at it and say “yeah- you need to read this one- it’s good”.

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ This is when a book has knocked my socks off because I saw no part of it coming OR it’s a book I want to put on the pillow next to me when I sleep because I’m not ready to say goodbye. It moved me. It changed my thinking. It SHOCKED me. You KNOW these books. They are sometimes the book that gets us out of a reading slump. It may not be the best book to everyone else, but it’s significant and meaningful in it’s own way.
